Keywords:

This study aims to analyze the impact of foreign trade on economic growth in Algeria during the twenty years of 2000-2020, foreign trade is considered as one of the most important areas of interaction between the local and global economics, since it contributes to the gross domestic product on one hand and meets the economic requirements on the other hand. However, the foreign trade sector is facing many challenges starting from its dependence on the fuel sector; The trade balance is directly impacted by the evolution of fuel prices on one hand and the effectiveness of development procedures that seek to reduce imports and increase exports on the other hand. In order to get rid of this dependence, Algeria may resort to implementing a set of programs and reforms that are based on promoting exports first and foremost and then looking for ways to be integrated into the international market through its efforts to join the World Trade Organization, as well as the partnership agreement with the European Union.
